Happy Registered Dietitian Day!

Its March 9th people. Bust out your kazoos, party hats, streamers, balloons and other standard party paraphernalia because it is the best day of the year and we need to celebrate!

3/9 never used to resonate with me. It was just another day of the year. Well that all changed as of last October when I became a Registered Dietitian!

March 9th is designated by the American Dietetic Association as Registered Dietitian Day! So get out there and show a RD some love today! Have you ever wondered if you could benefit from seeing a dietitian? Are you aware of all the things a dietitian could help you with? Check out these Ten Reasons to Consult a Registered Dietitian.

March 9th is just one day out of a whole month that is dedicated to nutrition. That’s right the month of March is designated as National Nutrition Month! This year’ theme is Eat Right With Color. To me, Eat Right With Color means we need to strive to load our plates with as many different colors as possible! Make it a point every day to explore the colors of the rainbow with your fruits and vegetables. With each color you receive different vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. So in order to get maximum nutrition from your diet, you have to eat a variety of colors of fruits and vegetables. To learn more about the benefits of eating right with color, read my post Veggies: Taste the Rainbow.
